The Siheung Seohae High School soccer team won the national championship after 16 years of establishment.
Siheung Seohae High School emerged as a dark horse in high school football by lifting the thrilling championship trophy in a national championship 16 years after the team was founded in 2007.
Seohae High School, led by coach Kim Hak-cheol, a “master of tactics,” has won regional championships in the weekend league since its establishment in 2009, but unfortunately has not been able to establish a relationship with the national championship. The best results are 3rd place at the 2016 Presidential Geumbae High School Football Tournament and 2nd place at the 2019 Blue Dragon National High School Football Tournament.
Seohae High School, which has been patiently building up its skills for 16 years, has changed this year. After coming in third at the 28th National High School Football Championship in no semester, he defeated Yangsan Beomeo High School 2-1 at the 60th Cheongryonggi National High School Football Championship last month and lifted the first championship trophy since its founding.
This victory is the result of the players and coaches’ ceaseless efforts and perfect teamwork. For this tournament in the scorching heat, Seohae High School poured out a lot of sweat every day after school at the Siheung Himchan Park Stadium to consolidate their strength. In particular, the resourcefulness of coach Kim Hak-cheol, who has been in charge of the team for 12 years, stood out.
In the final match, when the attack did not develop properly and contracted due to frequent pass misses in the early stages of the game, after seeing through the team’s problems and the opponent’s tactics, he ordered a change in tactics. The players accepted this well and scored the first goal and took the initiative and was able to win.
In addition, the role of head teacher Kim Kwang-ho was also great. When the stress and emotional changes of student-athletes followed while studying and exercising at the same time, he encouraged his students while helping them to achieve psychological stability through constant communication.
Thanks to this deep trust between the leader and the players, Seohae High School is steadily producing excellent players. K-League 1 Jeonbuk Hyundai midfielder Ryu Jae-moon and Daejeon Hana Citizen striker Yoo Kang-hyun are from this school.스포츠토토
Head coach Kim Hak-cheol is busy preparing for the next tournament, not even having time to enjoy the joy of his first win after 12 years since his appointment. This is because the ‘2023 National High School Football League King of Kings’, which begins on the 14th, is right in front of you.
Coach Kim Hak-cheol said, “It’s been a while since we finished the Blue Dragon Competition, but we have to prepare for the next competition.” Winning is good, but first, I will focus on taking care of the players’ bodies before participating in the competition.”
Coach Kim continued, “There are many players with high-level skills on our team. In the future, we will continue to develop the team and develop excellent players so that Seohae High School can continue to maintain top-notch skills on the high school stage.”
