The Korea Professional Football Federation (KFA) will hold the ‘K-League International Youth Cup Incheon 2023’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘Youth Cup’) in Incheon for 9 days from September 3 to mark the 40th anniversary of the K-League.

This Youth Cup is held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the K-League and to improve the competitiveness of K-League youth teams and promote international exchange. It is hosted and supervised by the federation and the Incheon Metropolitan City Football Association, and sponsored by Incheon Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the National Sports Promotion Corporation.

The participating teams are ▲5 K-League youth teams (FC Seoul, Suwon Samsung, Incheon United, Jeonbuk Hyundai, Pohang Steelers), ▲4 European teams (Wolverhampton Wanderers FC (England), RSC Anderlecht (Belgium), Valencia CF, Real Sociedad) (Spain)), ▲2 Asian teams (Tokyo Verdy (Japan), Chonburi FC (Thailand)), and Incheon Metropolitan City Football Association invited a total of 12 teams, including Bupyeong High School.

Participation age is U-17 (born on or after January 1, 2006). The tournament format is divided into 6 teams, A and B groups, each team will play 5 group league matches, and then each group will play the final ranking game.먹튀검증

The group stage will be held from September 3rd to 8th at Incheon Munhak Stadium auxiliary pitches, Incheon Asiad auxiliary pitches, and Namdong Asiad Rugby Stadium. The final match between the teams that placed first in the group stage will be held on September 9 at the Incheon Soccer Stadium.

As a result of the group draw held on the 11th, Group A consisted of Valencia CF, RSC Anderlecht, Chonburi FC, Jeonbuk Hyundai, Pohang Steelers, and Incheon United.

In addition, participating teams will hold a seminar for leaders during the tournament to exchange approaches and training methodologies of youth systems in each country, and invited teams from abroad will have time to experience Korean culture by touring major attractions.

Meanwhile, the federation plans to successfully host this tournament and develop it into the best youth tournament in Asia by expanding the scale of the tournament in the future.
